A Health to Betty
for a line of as many couples as will.
Reconstructed by Dafydd Cyhoeddwr.
The progressive choruses for this dance have different repeat requirements, but since the 4 bar musical phrase is short it is easily repeated as required.  The formula, however, isn't as simple as most of these dances.
The first progressive figure requires a formula of (nx3)-1 for the repeats (3 couples = 8 repeats, 4 couples = 11 repeats, 5 couples = 14 repeats).
The other two figures require the normal (n-1)x3 formula, and each verse requires two repeats each, for a total formula of (((nx3)-1) + ((n-1)x3)x2) + 6
3 couples = 26 repeats, 4 = 35, 5 = 44

Part 1
Verse 1, Part A (one repeat)
1&2: Everyone lead up a double and fall back a double, face your partner
3&4: Set and turn single, left
Verse 1, Part B (one repeat)
1&2: Everyone lead up a double and fall back a double, face your partner
3&4: Set and turn single, right
First progressive chorus:
1&2: Couple 1 sides left (small double forward to the left to line up right shoulders)
3&4: Couple 1 turns each other one and a half times around in two doubles
R: The second repeat of this chorus has man 1 siding (right) to woman 2, and woman 1 siding (right) to man 2
The figure continues down each side, with couple 1 doing the figure to each other at the bottom of the set to return to the proper side of the set.  Instead of sitting out at the top, the couple there does the figure with each other.
Once everyone has returned to their proper position in the line, the second verse can begin.
Part 2
Verse 2, Part A (one repeat)
1&2: Side left with your partner (small double forward to the left to line up right shoulders)
3&4: Set and turn single, left
Verse 2, Part B (one repeat)
1&2: Side right with your partner (small double forward to the right to line up left shoulders)
3&4: Set and turn single, right
Second progressive chorus:
1: Couple 1 meet a double
2: Couple 1 back a double
3: Couple 1 cast off and fall into the second couple's place in a double
4: Couple 1 turn each other quickly all the way around in one double
R: Continue switching to the bottom or top of the line, sit out a repeat, and come back in as the opposite type.  Continue until everyone is back to where they started, when the third verse can begin.
Part 3
Verse 3, Part A (one repeat)
1&2: Arm left with your partner (take right arms and walk a circle to the left in two doubles)
3&4: Set and turn single, left
Verse 3, Part B (one repeat)
1&2: Arm right with your partner (take left arms and walk a circle to the right in two doubles)
3&4: Set and turn single, right
Third progressive chorus:
1: Couple 1 do a single back and a single forward
2: Couple 1 meet a double (and take both hands)
3: Couple 1 slip down between couple 2
4: Couple 1 turn single
R: Continue switching to the bottom or top of the line, sit out a repeat, and come back in as the opposite type.  Continue until everyone is back to where they started, when the dance is finished.
