The proposal was very traditional.  I spoke to my parents, with Cynthia by my side, when we took my parents out for my mom's birthday.  Once my parents acknowledged my intention, I then went over to her house that night and asked her parents for permission to have my parents over to discuss further approval and arrangement.  Then both parents were suggesting October 2003 for the engagement, but we thought it was too soon.  August was out of the question because it was some Buddhist Goddess' special month.  There were no other good weekends (according to the Lunar Calendar) in any other months, but December 14, 2003.  Which happened to be our 4 years 10 months together dating.  The Photographer was my brother Simon Cao Thanh Nghia (115 Harrison Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067; 732-382-2568, 646-267-6116, 718-486-8881) and the Videographer was Cam Cuong Studio (info can be found on the "CamCuongStudio" link above).  The banquet was also at Kim Long (currently Saigon Maxim, 612-632 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147; 215-271-8838) with seven tables of guests.
