Blaise Tobia • South Chicagoland 1988
I photographed Chicago extensively during the summer of 1988, during breaks from my NEH summer seminar
at the University of Chicago. A common term among locals for metropolitan Chicago is "Chicagoland" and it is
the south side of this area - extending even into Indiana - that most interested me,
with its vast post-industrial vistas and sculpture-like details.
The South Chicagoland series was shot on 120 format Kodak color negative film.
It is printed at 13x19 inches on Ilford Galerie Fiber Silk paper using archival pigments.
South Chicagoland 1988 limited edition book - deluxe hardcover, 12x12, 32 pages.
Purchase at Achilles Press.
