Wei Sun is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, with an affiliated appointment in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems at Drexel University. His areas of research include Computer-Aided Tissue Engineering, Biomanufacturing and Bioprinting, CAD/CAM and Solid Freeform Fabrication. He has published over 200 technical articles, 10 patents issued and pending, and has given over 90 invited national and international presentations. He is currently serving as the Chair of the Biomanufacturing Technical Committee in Manufacturing Engineering Division, American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), the Section Editor for Tissue Engineering for Journal of American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO), and the Members of Editorial Board for Journal of Recent Patent in Engineering, Journal of Computer-Aided Design & Application (CAD&A), and International Journal of Service Operations & Informatics (IJSOI). He also serves on proposal reviews and panelist for NSF, NIH, Chinese Natural National Science Foundation, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, Canada Science & Engineering Research Council, Singapore Science & Engineering Research Council, and IndoUS Science and Technology Forum.
