High Pressure Spray Method

Airless spray has been used for over 50 years.
The method provides high productivity with an good finish.
Airless spray guns atomize by hydralic pressure, forcing paint through a very small orifice in the nozzle (0.011 to 0.023 in). Paint is delivered from high pressure pumps between 2000 and 5000 psi. Spray particles retain enough velocity to travel to the substrate.
Only minor changes have been made in the process. Improvements in design and material quality have produced higher operating pressures and equipment longevity. Safety features have also been incorporated to prevent fluid injection injuries.
Airless spray provides the high volumes needed for large surfaces and high production. The process also creates overspray or waste. This method has a 40-50% transfer efficiency. Airless spray remains the lead technology for industrial finishing.
