The St. Louis Rams were inconsistent during the 2004 season, sometimes looking like world-beaters, other times looking like boys among men. The team evened out towards the end of the year, however, and finished with an 8-8 record. They entered the playoffs as a wildcard team and upset the Seattle Seahawks in the opening round. They were eliminated from the playoffs the following week by the Atlanta Falcons.
