Since it was first discovered and cultivated in Ethiopia over a thousand years ago, coffee has done more good to the human race than any other central nervous system stimulant. It increases mental capacity and serves as a social lubricant. It is a student's best friend and a working person's first thought when the morning alarm goes off.
The best coffee is the coffee you've brewed yourself, from fairly-traded beans you've ground yourself, that you've poured into your favorite non-disposable mug. This process benefits the earth (no wasted single-use cups) and your budget (it is far cheaper to brew your own). Nonetheless, today's active lifestyles do not always allow us the time to make coffee at home, nor have we all the same inclination to do so. Recognizing that the occasional purchase of vendor-brewed coffee is a fact of life, this site aims to help you make the caffeine connection. These pages review the purveyors of coffee nearest and dearest to the Drexel University's University City campus, centering on the home of the iSchool, the Rush Building.
First, the Cheap page reviews a few places to get coffee for less than a dollar, salvation of many a poor graduate student. Next, the Fast page offers guidance to the student who has only a few moments to procure her warm beverage before dashing off to class. The Drexel coffee drinker with discriminating tastes should concern herself with the Good page, which offers suggestions on the tasty, delicious and freshly brewed goodness available nearby. Finally, for the visual learner, a map displays the location and a photo of each establishment reviewed above.
Please note that prices are given as small/medium/large, which generally represents 12/16/20-ounce cups.
