-Allows hands-on experience (GREATEST strength of any course) _-(re)Teaches fundamentals of electronics _ _-Hard to crunch all into 10 week term _ _

Strength: Very great Lab/Class relationship. Building circuits really helps to bridge the gap between the theoretical side of the equations with the real world application of the circuits. _ _Weakness: The assesment test the first day is very intimidating and made me fear taking this class before the second lecture. Granted, we should know all of this information from undergraduate but most of us don_t review before the first day of classes. _

This course was helpful in understnading open loop control and really allowed student to understand the material in a hands on and mathematic way. More time could have been spent explaining theory and giving more examples for homework.

This course gives the student the opportunity to learn and apply digital control theory to use a PC to control a system. Programming and circuit building/troubleshooting skills are developed along with a fundamental understanding of the lab equipment. But as the nature of this type of course, an inoperative circuit can be fatal.

1. Great hands on applications _2. helps the student think in terms of a systems engineer by cascading the electronics,programming, controls in single course. _3. The homework and labs would take and average of 8hours/week for anyone without C programming and hands on circuits experience. So anyone who doesnt have that much of time, think twice before taking the course! _4. Drexel should have more courses like this which would give hands on experience and provide the student background in programming, system dynamics and data acquisition. I can think of a _MEM800 Test Engineering course_, hands on labs and projects and data acquisition from strain gauges,thermocouples, various sensors and transducers, vibrations and modal testing, spectrum analysers, image processing, Statistical data analysis, Case studies in test engineering. I hope Dr Oh would consider this type of a course.

He has great communication skills. Timely responses on emails. Excellent instructor. I look forward to taking 640 and 800. Furthermore I would like to do an independent research with him. I have to say he is brutal in grading. I was 1 week late in only one lab and he cuts points from that and doesnt credit the effort in questions, its either 0 or 10points.

Petition Drexel for semester schedule so that more time can be had to go into concepts further and better finish learned topics.

The way to improve the course is to provide the student enough time to practice soldering so that the student will be comforatble while soldering the parts required for the course

make a 4 credit class with seperate lecture and lab times, so a TA or teacher can assist with lab if unable to succeed.

Need more lab equipment. Currently there is only one oscilloscope and two DC motors available. At least two more DC motors and at least one more oscilloscope is required. Another PC or two for interfacing with would be nice to have.

1. This course needs 1-2 TA`s to help the students with their circuits. Its not fair to expect Dr Oh to address troubleshooting questions all by himself during the hands on lab part of the course. _2. Its easy for a mechanical engineering student who hasnt touched anything electronics all his life to cook components as I did and I had to order my spares and wait 3-4days, so it might be worth Dr. Oh to charge more than 45$ and order spares upfront. _3. I think the blackboard lectures should be downloadable .pdf`s too, it would be neater and the students would concentrate on whats explained rather than worrying to write at the same time. _4. We need more motors and oscilloscopes in the lab. 1 scope and 2 motors are definitely not enough. _5. Solutions to homeworks can be posted in the website _6. The cancelled content which is about transfer functions can be provided to the student as a useful peice of information to ! read.
