Web Page Limitations

You have Less Control Over Formatting. You Cannot

Know exactly the way your page will look on someone else's Browser
Know the font which will appear on the user's browser
Make the font a specific size
You can, however, predict relative sizes by using Headings etc.
Control where line endings will be - they adjust to the width of the page
Have precise control over text placement on the page
Spacings between lines etc.
Readily produce a pretty printed document from a web page.
You can print out a page reasonably well for rough purposes.

There are exceptions to all of these rules, but they involve more complex and usually proprietary tools.
