Tom Taylor

Tom Taylor is the faculty director/advisor for the Wales Study Abroad program.

Tom served a mission in Wales from 1977 to 1979 and has studied Welsh since 1980. He was the first student at BYU to fulfill the higher language GE requirement in Welsh. He received a BA in English from BYU in 1983 and an MBA from Santa Clara University in 1986. He worked for Hewlett-Packard from 1987-2001 as a “Marketeer”. He and his family moved to Provo, Utah after he retired from Hewlett-Packard. He began teaching Welsh at BYU in September 2004.

Tom is an avid hiker, cyclist, and pin-collector. According to him, no place is too far to walk. His favorite words include “ardderchog” and “archfarchnard”.

His wife, Katy, and their three children, Anders, Griffin, and Zenobia, accompany him to Wales.
