Mission
For by grace you have been saved through faith. This is not your own doing, it is the gift of God. Salvation is not earned by our effort, lest anyone should boast of it. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.
Ephesians 2:8-10
OUR MISSION as a church is to proclaim the Good News of mercy and salvation for all people. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, makes possible for us to become the people that God intends for us to be. Our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, makes possible for us to be the bearer of Good News to others.
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
I Corinthians 12:27
We seek to fulfill our mission of being Christ's body through worship, education, support and vocation.
WORSHIP: We recognize our complete dependence on God. We hear the Good News of God's unconditional love and acceptance of us. We receive our Lord into our lives. We respond in praise and thanks to God.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day....For great is the Lord and worthy of praise!
Psalm 96
EDUCATION: The Bible is God's written message of salvation. With the Holy Spirit's guidance we seek to understand more completely God's promises to us and God's purposes for us.
...these are written that you may believe...and that believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:30-31
SUPPORT: God has blessed all of us with different talents, resources and opportunities. God intends that our blessings be used to build up and improve the lives of other people.
...encourage one another and build one another up...
I Thessalonians 5:11
VOCATION: God has a unique purpose for each of us. We each have been given particular skills, particular jobs, particular interests in order to fill a particular place in God's Kingdom.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.
Romans 12:6
