Research Interests

Areas involving semantics and the use of natural language, including semantic annotation, semantic indexing and retrieval,  as well as the supporting fields of information extraction and statistical natural language processing. My current research focuses on a) fast biomedical semantic annotation to support online applications, and b) biomedical text summarization using biomedical concepts rather than terms to identify text themes.
