Leebers Inc. proposes to make an interactive “Spoof” on the website & company myspace.com.
We will create an amusing parody of this website, which will mimic the overall style of the site’s
design and interface. The main point of the parody is to reveal the aspects of the myspace which people
use it for that make it so addicting and l a m e.
The site will be called "Myspacer.com so the user will not immediately see the difference.
Again, we will try to make the layout as similar as we can as well. We will have a link to the real myspace
site at the bottom as well, so users can see the points we made about the site for themselves. Myspace.com may
actually see this as a way to advertise for them, which may bring in the parody even MORE fame!
Some of the interactive features will be the rollover buttons that will “reveal” the real use behind each
aspect of the website…. An example being the logo itself. Instead of just saying "A place for friends" it will say
"A place for posers" "A place for procrastinators"... etc. All of which the user would understand, should he/ she ever
use the real site.
This is just one example of course. There will be other parts in Myspacer.com that will have rollovers
that will alter the parody from what Myspace is supposed to be used for and what people actually
use it for. All of the main functionality uses of myspace will be sarcastic, straight to the point examples of
what the popular uses for these things are. Ie: 4 or 5 layouts commonly seen on myspace, 4 or 5 profile pictures
commonly used by people, etc.
