Scaled Model UAV Mission Testing


INTRODUCTION

The goal of this research is to provide a scaled testing environment for UAV missions. If UAV missions can be accurately approximated in the lab, then this greatly reduces the risk and design time involved in implementing and executing the real world missions.

SCALED MODEL

The area modeled was the rotorcraft research facility at Piasecki Aircraft. The model was constructed by Jesse Greenberg and associates of Simulab Studios. The environment was modeled at 1/87th scale to match the H0 model train scale. Images of the scaled model can be found below:
