Johnson Space Center Robotics Lab 12/19/04
Me makin' friends with Robonaut. Note the view through his eyes on the TV in the background. Behind me is DART, who was inducted as an official Brownie back in 2000 (and wears her sash proudly).
Greg sympathizing with the anguish of Segwanaut.
Me pointing out what our lab lacks: a bunch of spare robotic hands.
For those familiar with the Canadian arm, this is the American version. Bigger and beefier, of course. Space station training modules in the background.
Suckers! And to think, I used to be one of them.
This is Scout, which is actually a joint project between several NASA divisions. Meant to be a rover test bed. Actually used for joy riding.
Spider, designed and constructed by Mr. Lyndon Bridgwater. This is a prototype for a much larger robot. The idea is to design something that is very low impact on its surroundings for use on delicate terrain such as solar panels. Click the pic to see it in action (Warning: 2.5 MB avi).
Lyndon and me chillin' under the bright blue Martian sky.
