A game of basketball couldn't have done this to me.  Must be some divine intervention.  Although why would anything divine want to mess with my back? 

It's amazing how you just click with certain people.  And certain other...hard as you try, you really don't have anything to say to them.  Maybe this is what is meant by 'chemistry'.  I always wondered before what chemistry between people meant.  The mind conjured up images of beakers, pipettes, and flames, red boiling liquids, frothing blue ones.  

It's a funny feeling when you realize how old you actually are.  Past the age of being a 'young achiever'.  Those dreams of making you first million by the time you are twenty-five remain just that.  The reality of it hits you hard.  

Every once in a while, a great opportunity comes along. One that you know you have to grab with both hands and hold onto, because it could lead to greater things.  One of these came by, past me today.  I'm grabbing at it.  Right now it's like a little paper boat, made to sail in a lake.  The natural tides of the lake seem to be taking the boat away, further into the waters, from where you'll never get it back.  But you are also frantically trying to create a reverse tide, with the palm of your hands.  You love the boat and want it back.  Eventually, it's neither the lake nor your tired hand that wins.  The wind blows the ship where it pleases.  Will the wind favor me this time? 

Monday,  4th August 2003:

Having a back ache is no fun.  Especially when there is no one to fuss over you and to take care of you - like your mom or girlfriend.  But living alone has taught me a great deal.  How to plan for grocery shopping, how to cook when you are sick of eating frozen foods, what to do when you have to spend 22 out of 24 hours by yourself.  I guess that was what inspired me to create this website.  God knows it took long enough to get this far, to a state where I can be half-proud of it and it has content on every page.  Now the hard part will be keep it constantly updated.  I guess once I get back to classes I'll have less time, so I might be less frequent with updates, but I'll try.
