I'm a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Information Science and Technology—the iSchool—at Drexel University. I research (and occasionally teach) human-computer interaction (HCI). My research interests include
- information visualization, especially methods for evaluating the usability and usefulness of infoviz systems;
- designing useful and usable systems for complex, life-critical applications;
- the role of user-centered design and usability testing in system development methods;
- usable information security; and
- artificial intelligence, especially case-based reasoning.
My dissertation title is "Do Information Visualization Systems Improve Users’ Understandings of Data?" You can learn more about some of the other research in this area at my advisor Dr. Chaomei Chen's website. I'll be collecting data for the dissertation in early 2009.
Online Presentations
My November 2008 presentation for World Usability Day 2008 to a joint meeting of PhillyCHI and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Usability Professionals' Association.
