Activities:
The Engineering Graduate Association (EGA) is
composed of a ~650 graduate students studying engineering and computer
sciences. As the President of this organization, from June,
2006-Present, I have been involved in the planning and execution of a
variety of different events. My favorite event that the EGA
participated in was Susan Komen Race for the Cure 5K run in May, 2007.
With the support of the College of Engineering at Drexel, the EGA race
team sponsered 47 runners, donating over $1400 for breast cancer
research. Another of my favorite events occurred during Engineer's
Week in February, 2007. The EGA was asked to co-sponsor a panel
discussion with 3 Drexel alumni who are now NASA astronauts.
I was asked to host the panel discussion and NBC 10's news anchor, Terry
Ruggles, was the moderator of the event. Additionally, the EGA has
participated in intramural sports, including faculty vs. student
sporting events, socials, and seminars.
