This page offers detailed directions from the Canyon View Information Plaza to my seat in class.
1.) Exiting The Grand Canyon
- From Canyon View Information Plaza get on the Village Route shuttle at 8 a.m.
- Take shuttle to Bright Angel Lodge (stop 7)
*(the shuttle is free)
2.) Grand Canyon to Flagstaff, AZ Amtrak Depot
- From outside Bright Angel Lodge lobby, catch the 10:45 a.m. Open Road Tours
shuttle Flagstaff, AZ Amtrak station (shuttle arrives at train station at 12:30 p.m.)
*Open Road Tours shuttle will cost $27 and tickets can be purchased by calling
1-877-226-8060 between 7:30 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. (must have credit card to reserve)
3.) A Hotel in Flagstaff
- From Amtrak depot, walk East on E. Santa Fe Ave to the corner of N. San Francisco St.
- Turn Left and stop at 100 N. San Francisco St. at the Monte Vista Hotel
*The hotel is less the ¾ of a mile from the depot and information about it can be found there.
**Hotel room with one double bed w/ private bath is $65
4.) Flagstaff to Union Station, Chicago, IL
- To return to Amtrak depot in the morning, Walk back to corner of N. San Francisco St.
- Turn Right on E. Santa Fe Ave and return to depot
- Board 6:01 a.m. train for Union Station in Chicago, IL
*Route to Chicago is called 4 Southwest Chief
**1 Superliner Roomette (upgraded sleeper room) is $373
***Train will arrive at Union Station following day at 3:20 p.m. (trip is total of 32h 19m)
5.) A Hotel in Chicago
- Exit the front of station and walk North on S. Canal St. to Adams St.
- Turn Left on Adams St. and walk to Clinton St.
- Turn Left on S. Clinton St. and walk to W. Harrison St.
- Turn Left on W. Harrison St. and stop at the Holiday Inn Chicago/Downtown
*Total walk is less than 1 mile

6.) Hotel to historic Navy Pier
- Leave hotel by cab and take it to the American Canadian Caribbean Cruise Line
departure point on Navy Pier
-Board their ship Niagara Prince at 12:00 p.m. (leaves port at 7:00 p.m.)
*Cab ride is approx. 10 minutes and 2.5 miles
**Info for the cruise can be found at the hotel and reservation can be made up
until the day before by calling 800-556-7450 between 8:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m.
***Trip is 15 days long and costs between $3125 & $3840
7.) Chicago, IL to Warren, RI
- The cruise makes over 12 stop before reaching port in Warren, PI
*Warren is small port town only a short distance from Newport & Providence
8.) Port at Warren, RI to Green Airport (Providence, RI)
- From the port (459 Water St.) take a taxi to Green Airport in Providence
*Cruise returns to port at 9:00 a.m.
**Taxis are waiting at the dock when the cruise returns to port
***Airport is 8 miles from dock
9.) Green Airport to Philadelphia International
- US Airways non-stop flight to Philadelphia (1:20 p.m. departure)
*Ticket $87 on Expedia.com
10.) Philadelphia International to 30th St. Station
- Flight arrives at US Air terminal D at 2:55 p.m.
- Exit terminal D through terminal connector and pass Terminal D ticketing area and into
the Septa Regional train station
- Board the R1 Regional to 30th St. Station at 3:41 p.m.
*Tickets for the train are $3 and can be purchased on platform and on train
**R1 arrives at 30th St. Station at 4:00 p.m.
11.) 30th St. Station to the Korman Center
- Exit 30th St. Station to Market St.
- Walk West to 32nd & Market St.
- On the left side of the street will be Matheson Hall (#11 on Drexel map) and Leonard
Pearlstein Business Learning Center (#11A)
- Turn Left and go between the two buildings and into the ‘Quad’ (when going between
buildings, there will be a glass crossover overhead)
- Korman Center will be the next building on the right side
- Walk through the front doors and straight back to room 105D (on left side of hallway)
- Take a seat in the classroom
