Drexel Student Launches Writing Education Website

PHILADELPHIA, March 13, 2006 – Drexel student Joseph Laub, a web designer and writer, is pleased to announce the launch of his website, World Wide Writing. The site was created as part of a Writing for the World Wide Web class at Drexel University in Philadelphia, and features completely original content and design.

Constructed over the course of 10 weeks, the site contains samples of a wide range of writing types from informative to persuasive to journalistic. Included in the site is “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs”, an example of persuasive “spin”, as well as the debunking of a myth, a piece on the origin of a particular cliché, examples of how to avoid clichés, a description of a product, and others. The goal of the site is to educate readers on the many different kinds of writing available to them depending on what they intend to accomplish in a particular piece.

Joseph Laub is a Junior at Drexel University majoring in Communication with a concentration in Global Journalism and a minor in Political Science. More information about his is available online. The World Wide Writing website can be found at http://pages.drexel.edu/~jpl42
