The blue elements in the above diagrammed system indicate the structural
members. The red arrows are the force flow indicators. As
demonstrated by this diagram, forces in a steel frame structure are carried
through the structural members and transferred to the ground. Certain
loads are not diagrammed here, such as wind loads and seismic loads, but they
are discussed previously in the Loads
section.
