Welcome to my website. If you're like me, then you've reached that point in your life when it seems that all of your friends are either getting married or having babies. Suddenly every weekend is filled with rehearsal dinners, dress fittings, weddings,shopping in baby clothing stores and, of course, showers. You're also probably planning a wedding of your own or decorating your baby's room. With all of these joyous events occuring it's very likely that the full responsibility of hosting a wedding or baby shower will fall on you! You might have orignally believed that these small get-togethers were simple and easy to plan, but planning a shower can be time-consuming, expensive and demanding. Showers are often filled with very different people who don't know each other (think of dear Great Aunt Edna along with your quirky college roommate) and require a tactful and attentive hostess. Remember that you probably won't know half of the people and just like weddings, showers are full of politics. A well-meaning, but inexperienced in hostessing friend can easily end up with complaints of a "poorly planned shower." Until very recently I was the young, well-meaning, but hostess-challenged friend who didn't know a thing about showers. After planning and hosting several showers (bridal & baby) I've learned a few tricks on how to keep costs down, keep people happy and even impress the beloved guest of honor;those icebreakers that seem cheesy actually work.
