CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS should be short and to the point; give the reader just a few hints to help him create the character in his own mind. Never describe a character in terms of an actor: "He looks like Tom Hanks only cuter." Never get too specific, especially with your leads: "She's 5'2", weighs 110 pounds, with medium-length chestnut hair and green eyes." Try to think about five things: gender, age, grooming, socioeconomic niche, and attitude.
