A dormitory for architecture students

Designed with the architecture student in mind, this building houses 128 students and provides them with work spaces, student storage and a model shop.  The first two floors are semi-public and contain seminar rooms, a lecture hall, a gallery, and a convenience store.  To get to the residence floors, the students walk up a very sculptural, curving staircase which hugs the interior wall of the drum and offer nice views looking toward center city.  The resident floors consist of student suites on one wing and lounges, kitchen areas, and study spaces on the other.  Unlike many dorms which lack a community feel, a very large atrium space in the main drum and a smaller atrium in the residential wing link the floors together to promote interaction between the students and an overall better college dorm experience.
