SUMMARY
In relation to technological
usefulness, pictographic character expression has generally been
consigned to irrelevance. In fact, contrary to such impressions,
pictographic characters have considerable technological advantages
because each character represents conceptual information: a significant
benefit in terms of electronic information storage capabilities
and transmission speed. This benefit is not realized however because
of the forlorn attempts made to adapt Western orthographic keyboards
to Eastern pictographic languages, completely defeating the advantages
of pictographic expression.
To take advantage
of this benefit a purely Eastern keyboard has been developed and
is disclosed herein: the proprietary Bicameral Pictographic
Keyboard. This keyboard is purely pictographic without orthographic
or western utility. In fact, because the Bicameral Keyboard has
no key identification it would not even be recognized in the West
as a legitimate data-input device.
Unfortunately many
Asian scholars, knowledgeable in both orthographic and pictographic
languages, are so enthralled by western technology that they cannot
visualize pictographic expression in technological terms nor conceptualize
the efficient transmission of pictographic information electronically.
This is the objective of the Bicameral Keyboard: an Eastern keyboard
essentially free of Western influence.
