Integration
- 12. ADMINISTRATION, BILLING
AND RATES
- MTAS implementation will greatly simplify
account control for each LEC inasmuch as customer information such as credit
rating and payment plan for all of the users addresses provided by the
same LEC will appear in the same account, and will directly indicate equipment
used for rate purposes. Moreover, the MTAS primary address can be virtual,
with sub-addresses standing alone. Hence the cellular address would be
the primary address of subscribers without regular telephone service.
- The Rate Centers arrangement to provide
distance information for network billing is not affected by MTAS. However
MTAS does provide for a flexibility in rate scheduling not practical with
the present PSTN addressing arrangement. Because the embedded markers identify
the terminal devices used, they can be used to tailor rates to specific
line functions, particularly in relation to subscriber's needs as to connection
reliability or security.
