NEPs-Needle Exchange Programs-Programs set up to exchange new IV needles for dirty ones. NEPs are used to decrease the rate of HIV (and other disease) infection among IDUs. NEPs often operate out of RVs and other mobile vans.

IDUs-Injection Drug Users-People who uses a syringe to take illegal drugs.

IV Needles-Syringe used to inject substances directly into the veins, and therefore directly into the blood stream.

HIV/AIDS- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) knocks out the immune system, making it difficult to fight infection. HIV causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), a severe disorder of the immune system. People with AIDS are unable to fight infection and can become very ill and even die from commonly unnoticeable infections such as the common cold.

Drug Paraphernalia-Any equipment or material that is used to administer, make, conceal or use illegal drugs such as cocaine.
