Supplemental Learning Activities
Often, it is useful to be able to give your personal contact
information to a colleague. Beaming your contact information securely provides
this information to your colleague and avoids the hassle of having a pile of
business cards or scraps of paper lying around which can be easily
misplaced. ·
PALM: Complete a business card on the Palm using the following learning
activity. Add your own personal information in the contact section; include what
is important to you for your business card. Usually you will see, the name,
email address, important phone numbers, work address. Once you have completed
the information, save. Then you go back in and select that entry and it
should open up in the view mode. Once you see the entry in the view mode,
select MENU/ RECORD/ Select Business Card. Then the record should have an
icon of a ‘business card’ with a transmitter signal on the top, above the contact
name. After you have
completed the process, you can beam this information to someone else. ·
Pocket
PC: In the contacts section of the PDA, complete a new contact, being sure
to scroll down to the categories section. When you tap on the category section,
you will see options listed. You have the capability to personalize these,
click on ‘new’ and type in the category. Once you have completed the contact,
tap on OK, then tap on the menu section, and click on filter. Note you can
see the contacts that you have placed in each of the categories. After you
have completed the process, you can beam this information to someone
else.
