What is Social Anxiety Disorder?

Social Anxiety Disorder is a common anxiety disorder characterized by fear and avoidance of various social situations. In many respects, Social Anxiety Disorder resembles an extreme form of shyness. Unlike shyness, however, Social Anxiety Disorder interferes significantly with an individual's functioning. Free Treatment Program

Drexel University offers a free treatment program for adults (ages 18-60) suffering from social anxiety disorder.  If you are an adult who has these problems and you live in the greater Philadelphia area, please call the Drexel University Anxiety Treatment and Research Program at (215) 762-3327 (FEAR) to learn if you are eligible for our  free treatment program.  No medication is involved.
