Education
St. Martha SchoolWe educate children from kindergarten through the eighth grade in the 4Rs (reading, ‘riting, ‘rithmatic, and religion). Our hope is to send children onto high school and into the world, having had a well rounded educational experience rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, as passed on in the traditions of the Catholic Church. While primarily for children of parishioners, the school does have students who are non-parishioners and/or non-Catholics. We are willing to share our faith story with all people. Home and School AssociationThe home and school association is the support network between the teachers, the school administration and the parents of the school children. The association is a major source for communication between the families of students and the school, as well as a fund raiser for the school. Teachers Aides / VolunteersOur teachers are a dedicated, professional, faith-filled group of individuals who have chosen a career that is a vocation and a ministry – teaching our children. Since the classroom can be a busy place, aides are always welcome to assist in various ways. CARES (Children Are Receiving Extended Services)CARES is an afterschool program for students in kindergarten through the 6th grade. The program begins at 2:45 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Lunch Moderators“Would you like fries with that?” is the fast food restaurant’s way of being personal. A group of mothers AND fathers provide a more personal touch in our lunchroom by watching over the children during the lunch hour. Security Desk PersonnelVolunteers are needed to staff the desk on the school corridor in order to keep our greatest asset – the children – safe, and to provide a safe environment for learning. Go Back to TopSacramental PreparationsRCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) / RCIA for ChildrenThe RCIA and RCIA for Children are sacramental processes designed to welcome new members into the Catholic Church. Candidates in the programs can either be unbaptized individuals or individuals baptized in another tradition who seek to convert to Catholicism. All are seeking to join us on our journey of faith, a life of following Jesus Christ. Contact the rectory for further details on the process or to be part of the ministry. Go Back to TopAdult EducationThis committee is being formed in order to oversee the development and implementation of an adult education program in the parish. Too often we fall into the mind-set that we stop learning when we graduate from high school or college. This is not the case, especially when we consider our faith formation, a life long process of growing with the presence of the Lord. Go Back to Top |
