(Very) Brief HISTORY of the West Indian Student Establishment (WISE)

In 2004, we hosted the Northeastern Regional Caribbean Student Conference where the ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago, Marina A. Valere, gave the keynote address; the Four Beats to a Bar semi-formal dinner where Richard ‘Jah’ Ace, a man who has played an integral role in the development of reggae music gave the keynote address, and an Island Luncheon with the Honorable Keith “K.D.” Knight, Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. For our efforts, we received the Outstanding Contribution to International Understanding Award and the Organization of the Month certificate for April ’04.

This year, we have many more fun and exciting activities planned. We intend to send several of our members to the annual Caribbean student conference in Florida; take a Spring Break trip to Bahamas; host a mini concert and much more. WISE would love for you to come and be a part of it!
