| My
First Day by Sharell Jordan |
I enter the
room with a still and expressionless face.
So many emotions can be felt when your in a new place.
Fearful, yet confident because I know I can succeed.
Eyes tearful, tears suspended, an emotionless face is what I need.
Frightened, excited and fearful none the less.
Enlightened, ignited, can I deal with all the stress.
New faces to remember, new associates to makes.
New paths to go down, new steps to take.
New information to learn, new lessons to teach myself.
Diffferent hallways to turn, alone with no one else.
New levels of maturity, new style to understand.
New cultures to observe, with friends in hand.
So many adjustments to make, it may seem intense.
Not knowing what's going to happen has my heart in suspense.
But I'll adjust, after all I have in the past.
I'm sure this feeling of awkwardness wasn't meant to last.
I'll find the right door, I'll go the right way.
I'm sure everyone gets a little shaky on their first day.
