ADVICE
- intro
College is certainly different than high school. You are no longer herded
into classrooms
when
the bell rings. No longer are you forced to have your homework or reports
cards
signed by your parents. Nope, this is college... you are ALL ON YOUR
OWN. [more]

If you didn't know this before you got to Drexel but we are techonologically
advance
university. We are supposely one of the "most wired" schools in our
region (that
means you can be connect to the web all over campus). Which goes to
say
Drexel is big on computers. [more]
Professors
do not care if you attend class, even though they all wish you did (many
of them do not take attendance). Professors will not remind you of a
test or when
homework is due. Professors are basically givers of information. That's
all. They
stand up there and try to explain the stuff in the textbook by adding
their own
spin on things or own observations. It's not their job to help you get
an 'A'.
That's your job. [more]
On the
first day of class the professor will hand out a syllabus, stating the
professor's policies, grading scheme and the class schedule (test dates,
homework, etc.). These one or two pages are very important and can
determine how well you do in the class. [more]

you really want an 'A' |
All professors
are REQUIRED to have office hours and show up to them.
If your professor doesn't have them or doesn't show up, inquire about
it
or go to the dean. Remember they are REQUIRED to hold office hours.

I'll say
it straight up! Philly ain't New York City or DC. Philadelphia is a
different
city with it's own flavor and flare. Yes we like bright colors, yes
the guys like
wearing painted beards, yes the girls like to dye their hair unnatural
colors,
yes we ALL own a pair of Timberland or red boots. Just don't sit in
your dorm
room and complain about how "wack" Philly is especially since you've
never
been further than 8th and Market. [more]

Many of
us in college are in search of something. It could be knowledge,
wisdom, who we really are, a soul mate, to get rich, etc. Whatever you
are looking for remember you must continue to learn and any educated
person knows that. [more]
