5 Dead in Houston Shooting Rampage By JUAN A. LOZANO Associated Press Writer HOUSTON (AP) A convenience store owner who had apparently been feuding with a Houston wholesaler shot three people to death at the business Tuesday, then killed himself. His estranged wife was later found slain inside a cooler at his store. A SWAT team found the bodies of a man, his wife and their daughter inside Amko Trading, along with the mortally wounded gunman and two pistols, both of which appeared to have been fired. According to witnesses interviewed by police, the gunman walked into the wholesale clothing and perfume business around noon and said, ``They murdered my family, and now I'm going to murder them.'' He then started shooting. Employee Ruben Zuniga said the victims owned the business. ``When I heard the shots I got out and ran,'' said Zuniga, 29. The suspect died later at a hospital of a gunshot wound to the head. Police Capt. Richard Holland said the body of the suspect's wife was discovered about four hours later, in a cooler of the north Houston convenience store she and the suspect owned. Their names were not immediately released. Police identified the shooting victims as Chung Chang, 58, wife Hyun Chang, 54, and Kathy Chang, 23. Chang and the suspect both were Korean and had known each other for years, said Kristopher Ahn, who identified himself as Chang's attorney. Ahn also said the suspect had been behaving strangely lately, baselessly accusing Chang of sleeping with his wife. |
