Ireland has a population of about 4,156,119 and it is roughly the size of West Virginia according to the CIA world fact book. Northern Ireland, once separated from Ireland in 1921 due to its occupation and influence from the United Kingdom dates back to the 12 th century, is now united. There are no longer checkpoints or borders. The only way I could tell that we were in it the northern part of Ireland was by the slight difference in street/traffic marking and by the English style telephone booths. The country is now easy to travel from one section to the other. When organizing this site however, I have divided them into two different sections.
Accommodations
There are various options for accommodations in Ireland. Bed and Breakfasts seem to be the go to for accommodations in more rural areas. If you are seeing the city try to be aware of where you are staying compared to where the city center is located. For more information on accommodations check out the Lucky Links section.
