Setup/Installation
This section gives step-by-step instructions along with
photos to install the NI-USB-6211 DAQ on your Windows XP computer.
Step 1: Software Installation
Place the NI-DAQmx disc 1 of 2 that came with your NI-USB-6211 in your CD-Rom drive.
If the CD does not automatically start the installation program open the CD and double click on autorun.exe
In the installation program click the install button and follow the directions for installation. Please note that you should NOT change any of the setting, do a DEFAULT installation.
At the end of the installation it will ask you to restart your computer. Close all of your programs and save your work then restart your computer.
Step 2: Hardware Installation and Conformation
Plug the USB cord that came with the NI-USB-6211 DAQ into the your unit and into one of your free USB 2.0 ports on your computer.
Your computer will automatically detect your device as a USB-621x Loader. Click next and have your computer find the drivers for your unit by its self.
After it has found the drivers from the previous part it will then automatically install the drivers for the USB-6211. If a prompt comes up to look for drivers for this, click next through it and have your computer automatically look for the drivers.
Go to Start Menu ' Programs ' National Instruments ' Measurement & Automation. Within this program check to make sure you have NI USB-6211: "Dev1" in you're My System/Devices and Interfaces/NI_DAQmx Devices tree. If you do not please visit http://www.ni.com/support/ for support.
