Application Process

We are pleased to announce that the web-based Institute application is now available. The application is completed on-line; paper-based applications are no longer accepted.

Selection Process

The administrative staff of FAIMER will evaluate all submitted applications for completeness and appropriateness. Approved applications will be forwarded to a review committee consisting of FAIMER Directors and other medical educators for final selection. In general, one candidate per institution will be selected.

Invitations to participate will be sent to finalists and, upon acceptance, arrangements for travel to the U.S. will be initiated. It will be the responsibility of the individual to obtain any necessary travel documents, although letters of explanation and support will be provided.

Selected finalists will be required to take a test of English proficiency which can be waived for individuals from countries where English is the official language or from medical schools with instruction in English.

Timetable

March 5, 2004 The on-line application must be submitted to FAIMER.
March 8, 2004 All supporting documents must be received at FAIMER.
April 2004 Review of applications by Scientific Review Panel.
May 2004 Announcement of Awards
October 2004 Program begins
