An educational workshop designed for representatives from institutions that provide training opportunities to International Medical Graduates (IMGs).

Wednesday, January 21, 2004: ECFMG Pre-Conference Workshop (half-day session)

Target Audience: New Training Program Liaisons (TPLs), Program Coordinators, and International Office Personnel.

An introductory course offering basic training on ECFMG Certification and the J-1 sponsorship requirements. The session will focus on the eligibility criteria for international medical graduates (IMGs) applying to U.S. residency training programs. In a step-by-step tutorial, participants will learn to prepare ECFMG J-1 sponsorship applications and have the opportunity to work directly with their Regional Advisors. Participants will gain the necessary skills to become successful Training Program Liaisons (TPLs) for their institutions.

January 22-23, 2004: Two-Day Conference

Target Audience: Experienced TPLs, Administrators of GME, and Directors and Staff of International Offices.

The two-day, advanced workshop will provide in-depth training. See Agenda for details. Conference speakers will include ECFMG staff, U.S. government officials, Graduate Medical Education experts, and U.S. immigration experts.
