New Main Lobby and Patient Service Center

The intent of this project was to provide a welcoming main entrance with both drive-up and parking garage access entering through a common space.  Reception, patient registration, pre-admit testing and a café are all accessed directly off of this lobby space, minimizing patient footsteps in what remains a sprawling patient complex.

The reception desk is highlighted through the use of rich materials, cherry wood, bird’s eye maple accents, brass insets and a black granite look polymer worksurface.  Overhead, the architectural signage band is supported with two metal work columns which pick-up on the brass inset detail on the face of the desk.  The signage design is modified and repeated in the ceiling mounted panels at registration and other key destination points accessed directly from the lobby.

The lobby has a central atrium feature which allows natural light to fill the space.  In order to soften the look of the brick clad towers visible through the atrium, cascading silk greens surround the opening.  The green is harmonious with the upholsteries, carpeting and small granite floor tile accents.
