Second Generation Librarian / Digital Native / Information Seeker

"I'm of a fearsome mind to throw my arms around every living librarian who crosses my path, on behalf of the souls they never knew they saved." - Barbara Kingsolver

Professionally

My professional goal is to work with emerging technologies in an academic or corporate library. My professional philosophy is to provide equal access to information and protect intellectual freedom through the utilization of technology that makes information more accessible. I'm a member of the ALA and ACRL.

Hire Me

I recently earned my MLIS with a concentration in Digital Libraries from Drexel University.

I am seeking a position in a library where I can apply the skills gained during my graduate career.

My Work

In the course of my graduate career I was able to work on myriad projects with practical applications including website design, heuristic evaluation, Android application development, and grant writing.

About

I am the daughter of a librarian, and my Mother inspired me to follow in her footsteps. I am a recent graduate of Drexel University where I earned my MLIS degree with a concentration in Digital Libraries. I am fascinated by the human mind, and have my BA in Psychology. During my coursework I developed a strong interest in emerging technologies, information architecture, and metadata. These interests are complemented by a lifelong love of learning and research.

Outside of my academic and professional interests I am becoming a health and fitness enthusiast. I attempt to exercise six times a week and love to hike, swim, kayak, play basketball, and be outdoors. I don't eat fast food or meat that wasn't raised humanely. I support my local farms and farmers, and take my food seriously. I love to travel and my next dream trip is a tour of Nicaragua, Panama, and Costa Rica. Finally, I am a passionate supporter of women's rights and GLBT rights.
