Research Interests

• Transport Phenomena (fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, mass transfer, and heat transfer) in materials processing of polymers, ceramics, and composites.
• Modeling drying of polymer solvent coatings and predicting the relationships between operating conditions and defect formation.
• General-purpose finite element methods for multi-phase, multi-physics, free-surface problems in complex geometries.
• Three-Dimensional free surface flows with dynamic wetting lines.
• Coupling mathematical modeling of transport processes on multiple length scales - from molecular scale to lab scale.
• Computational methods for predicting fluid-structural interactions.
