And now for a poem...
A Knight's Duty
To be a Knight one must set out without fear,
The steps one must take are never quite clear.
The beginning of care is where noble men start,
The second step to honor is the first in heart.
God's eye is the third as he watches us live,
Our duty and faith freely to him we give.
For the fourth element we look to the flock,
The flights of the geese hold the key to the lock.
The beginning of letters is the fifth rule to mind,
As greetings to others must be courteous and kind.
The sixth is the first in Loyalty to one's Lord,
To serve and protect him, we swear on our sword.
The seventh is common to both Lord and Squire,
They both have true strength and a soul full of fire.
Why? is the last and the end of the chain,
Of questions to figure out what is it we gain,
From perfecting both our body and soul,
Until, in combat, Death takes its toll.
We do it for honor as well as for God,
By taking the difficult path less trod.
But though we each carry a burdensome load,
We can endure by obeying this code.
What is this code? You may inquire.
Solve my riddle for what you desire.
