AH-Soft's
first venture into the Vocaloid canon was a departure from any other
debut. SF-A2 Miki, voiced by musician Furukawa Miki, was not
released as public software first, but as promotional material to some
of the more famous Vocaloid users on NicoNicoDouga on the condition that
they use the voice sample for a Christmas album. This album was
released mid-November 2009, taking many Vocaloid fans and users off
guard. The actual software was released early December 2009,
simultaneously with its other two Vocaloids, Yuki and
Kiyoteru.
Miki's character is also a departure from the original styling, exhibiting a more android styling with visible joints and the ability to hover in midair. Her character model as a whole holds an uncanny comparison to both Anemone of Eureka 7 and Nono of Diebuster. Her signature item and food have yet to be determined.
This Vocaloid is so new that there have been no indications towards how she will be accepted into Vocaloid canon, or if her music will be a hit. Stay tuned.
