One of the first Vocaloids to be released in Japan, MEIKO's voice library was compatible with Vocaloid version 1. When version 2 was released, the
reverse compatibility allowed her true potential to take shape. MEIKO
is best described as a 20 year old female with a red two-piece outfit with a bare
midriff. She is often seen with an old-style stand microphone or a
bottle or glass of wine. Her vocal library was made by a former
Japanese musical artist named Meiko Haigo.
MEIKO's music is all across the board, from sweet ballads to hard rock, her more notable sequences are original, and not covers. Much of her music is combined with Crypton's Desktop Music program FruityLoops, and the subsequent honorary Vocaloid FL-chan, such as with Various Feelings.
MEIKO's canon has also branched out when an effort to make her sound younger succeeded. Saikane MEIKO is a 16-year old girl with MEIKO's bare midriff style with a flared skirt. She carries around an old-style microphone and wears large old-style headphones. One of her biggest canon was when she led many other Vocaloids in an adaptation of Honey.
