I am doing my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Drexel University since 2000. My research topic is "Web - based simulation of Hydrodynamic Model using databases and metadata concept". I am using Java Servlet and JSP to develop a web based simulation environment. Simulation results are stored in an object relational database, PostgreSQL.  I am working to develop an ontology for web based simulation environment. I am using ISO 19115 Geographic Information Metadata standards to create metadata for hydrodynamic model. Recently, I wrote an ontology for geographic information metadata which was posted on OWL ontology library .

I was born and raised in Bangladesh. I graduated in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1996. I received my Masters in Water Resources Engineering from the same university in 1999. My masters thesis was on "Rainfall estimation over Bangladesh using satellite (GMS-5) data". I was working as a lecturer in the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM) of BUET since 1997.  I worked  in numerous flood management and water resources research projects at IWFM.

I spend my free time on writing poems (Bengali), skating at Penn Ring, watching movies at Bridge and biking in Schuykill river trail. My parents and sister are living in Bangladesh and my only brother lives in Canada.
