The art of making old things new.
In my spare time, which is rare and precious, I like to take old, decrepit pieces of furniture from thrift stores and the sidewalk (before trash pickup) and transform them into works of art.
The act of taking a thrift store find and making it into a piece worthy of display in one's home is incredibly gratifying. However, in order to do so, it's necessary to learn how. It's good to start small and then work your way up. This site can be considered a portal into the world of diy refinishing - see the links page for many other useful sites.
So where do I start?
This website shows a beginner how to refinish furniture, as well as showcasing various work I have complete. Though I know what I'm doing, I'm not a professional, by any means, so be certain to take that into consideration!
