Response: I wanted to create a space in the museum that would give multiple display options as well as multiple views for those exhibitions. At the same time, I wanted to keep a flow and connection through the entirety of the museum. It was also important to enliven this end of Broad Street by creating an interactive facade.
Split Levels & Stair - By splitting each level and creating an offset, exhibits could be seen from above, below, and straight on. The open stair connects each level, giving visibility and flow through multiple floors and exhibits.
Walls & Structure - The walls throughout the museum have specific surfaces which can move and fold out in order to create multiple display spaces, or fold in to give more planer areas. The structure follows eight points, which follow through the faceted walls on each level.
Facade - The Broad Street facade mainly consists of two layers; an OLED screen system toward the interior and frosted glass to the exterior. This OLED screen could be used by artists for installation projects which interact with not only the visitors in the museum, but with Broad Street pedestrians as well.
