T. Agami
Reddy, Ph.D., P.E. is a Professor in
the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Department of Drexel
University with a joint appointment in the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics
Department. His Ph.D was in solar energy system
simulation and design from the University of
Perpignan, France in 1982. He was a Visiting Faculty at the Mechanical
Engineering Department of Texas
A&M University
(1991-97), a Research Staff member and Lecturer at the Mechanical and Aerospace
Department of Princeton University (1988-91), and an Assistant Professor at the
Energy Technology Division of Asian Institute of Technology (85-86). He joined Drexel University
in September 1997.
General Areas of Professional Interest
- Energy sustainability and renewable
energy (solar thermal and PV)
- Energy conservation and
indoor air quality in buildings
- Smart buildings
Research Focus
- Advanced
data analysis and inverse methods: System identification, calibration,
parameter estimation, AI methods (artificial neural networks, expert
systems, genetic algorithms), fuzzy logic, Monte Carlo methods
- Mechanistic
model development and its engineering applications to building energy and
HVAC&R systems: Fault detection and diagnoses of chillers, supervisory
control of cooling plants, building demand control in response to electric
utility real-time pricing signals, combining heuristic knowledge with
formal engineering methods, on-line training methods
- Application
of risk analysis and science-based decision-making leading to informed and
constructive solutions: Supervisory control of building energy systems,
event-based IAQ mitigation, reducing risk in energy monitoring and
verification projects
- Integration
of distributed energy generation (CHP) and renewable energy systems:
Engineering and policy aspects related to energy and environmental
(emissions) issues
