Renato Brandimarti, Ph.D.

Renato has a major interest in viral proteins that regulate neuronal apoptosis, including the HIV envelope protein gp120. He is involved in the molecular studies with cell cycle proteins and currently working on the role of Rb in HIV neurotoxicity. Renato joined the group in July 2002 and also holds an academic appointment in Italy (University of Bologna.)
