Jeegar Patel

Jeegar Patel, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellows

Jeegar was a PhD student in our program, who joined the lab at the end of 2002 and recently earned his degree in Pharmacology and Physiology (August 2006). He is interested in the interactions between the chemokine system and other major CNS neuropeptides, namely opiates. Jeegar’s research goal has been to determine whether alterations of chemokine receptors expression/function induced by opioids may underlie progression to neuroAIDS in HIV-positive drug abusers.
